However, there are precautions that you can take:

1. Pick a location that is germ conscious. It’s always a good sign when the bouncy house place enforces “no shoes”, provides access to clean wipes and waterless anti-bacteria soap. It promotes a mindset that forces people to think about not spreading germs which is a good thing!

2. Vitamins. It’s always good to make sure your children have vitamins in their diet. If they’re going into a highly populated area or a children’s birthday party, it might be a good idea to load them up on vitamins before they go. Give their little bodies as much help as you can to fight off germs!

3. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Along the same mentality of giving them vitamins, it’s good to make sure they’re well rested. If the birthday party is scheduled during your toddler’s normal nap time, you may want to try to get them to sleep longer or get a nap in earlier. We know that’s easier said than done…  but if you know the schedule of the party is going to interupt the sleep schedule, you can be creative…  if the party is during nap time on a Saturday, you may want to keep them up later on Friday night and get them to sleep in on Saturday…  if that works for your child.  It’s just that well rested and well fed helps prevent sickness.

Other than that, just basic washing of the hands and trying to stay clean help prevent disease… but we all know that kids do get sick… it’s just helpful to keep it to a minumum and the above steps help do just that.
